Former Liverpool forward Craig Bellamy believes that Marcus Rashford is capable of becoming a Manchester United great if he continues to play as a central striker.
Rashford has often been deployed out wide since breaking into the United team but he has started up front in all three matches so far under caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The 21-year-old has been hugely impressive - he scored and provided an assist in the 4-1 victory at home to Bournemouth on Sunday to add to the goal that he scored against Cardiff last weekend.
Romelu Lukaku, who scored after coming on as a substitute against Bournemouth, will look to reclaim his place in the side, but Bellamy is adamant that Rashford should be United's first-choice striker.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Bellamy said: ‘I like Rashford. He can play left, he can play right, but for me he’s a striker.
'Seeing that performance today I would think he will take some moving and I would like to see him stay there now in that central position and become a Manchester United great.’
Rashford has found consistency difficult to come by, but there is little doubt regarding the quality that the England international possesses.
As has been the case with several other players, Solskjaer has succeeded in getting the best out of Rashford so far and United will hope for that to continue.
So far this season Rashford has scored five goals and provided six assists in the Premier League.
Solskjaer has won all three of his games since taking over on a temporary basis from Jose Mourinho, with United now just three points behind fifth-placed Arsenal.
